THE FILMSTEPS CURRICULUM
The September Term is the 'Free Term' where our crews are encouraged to develop their skills without the pressure of a deadline. In their free terms our crews have made and explored everything from news reports to adverts, dream sequences, silent movies, spooky shots, soap operas and more. To see some of the work made by our Filmsteps crews in the past please visit Filmsteps TV (www.filmstepstv.com)
The January Term is the 'Filmsteps Challenge'. All our crews around the country are given that year's special challenge at the start of the term and have to complete it by the end of term. Previous challenges have include making a film trailer or making a pop video.
The Summer Term is the 'Film Term'. Each crew makes their own mini feature film which is then screened at one of the special red carpet Filmsteps Premieres for friends and family to see.
FILMMAKING CERTIFICATES
On joining any of our Term Time Schools, all our crews are automatically 'in training' for their ENTRY LEVEL CERTIFICATE. The Entry Level syllabus is covered by the teachers, both directly and indirectly, as our crews work on their filmmaking projects and the syllabus contains lots of basic information to help our crews get the most out of their filmmaking. Students who have been with us for a minimum of 5 terms and have passed their Entry Level can then apply for their Intermediate and Advanced certificates should they wish to do so.
